Vodafone-Operator-Billing-001
Vodafone India has  unveiled a platform that will enable all local and international partners and app developers  to build apps and sell them through telephone bills. The Vodafone Developer Platform will give developers access to network resources like subscriber profile, billing, location, messaging, through API access.

Vivek Mathur, Chief Operating Officer, at Vodafone India said, “With the growth of smartphones and mobile internet, people are increasingly showing more interest in mobile applications and content services. To strengthen the ecosystem for application developers and content service providers and partner with them, we have launched the developer platform”.

Developers interested in using the platform will need need to sign standard set of terms and conditions, which will govern the commercial and others aspects of the developers relationship with Vodafone India. They will also be provided with a robust facility to test their apps and services in a simulated environment.

Vodafone customers will benefit from the developer platform as now they will have access to a range of applications with the built in operator billing. The amount will reflect in their bills for postpaid customers or will get deducted from balance in case of pre-paid customers.

The app platform launch comes a month after Vodafone had introduced music streaming service.
